Oliver Goes OFF ROAD! - A 4x4 Adventure Kids will Love

We have made a strong effort from day one to make sure that Hunter has a love for books and a strong appreciation for the outdoors. Oliver Goes OFF ROAD! is the perfect way to combine the two.

We had a beautiful day with our homeschool co-op f We had a beautiful day with our homeschool co-op family today at the creek. It was a much needed quiet, peaceful day in nature, and another sun dappled homeschool memory for the kidlets.

I love that we get to be a part of this community.
We spent a very mellow 4th of July camping on the We spent a very mellow 4th of July camping on the central coast. The day consisted of spending time at the Morro Bay Natiral History Museum, watching birds, making tracks, and watching puppet shows. Then we did our Junior Ranger book while watching the otters (can't beat that classroom). Then, as the fog rolled in, we walked the rear walkway on the embarcadero and watched the bay life. We ended the evening with dinner by the ocean and one lone firework that made it past the fog. All in all a perfect escape from the heat to the south, and a very nice way to spend the holiday.

Hunter worked really hard on the Jumior Ramger book and got sworn in right before we left this morning. We've done a bunch of National Parks, but this is her first state park badge, and she's super proud.

We aren't used to staying in campgrounds, as dispersed camping offers more privacy, but this one was quiet and clean, and even full for a holiday weekend, not at all crowded feeling.
We had a little nature walk with some of our @wild We had a little nature walk with some of our @wildandfree.foothills family this last Thursday before it got too hot.

Not only was it beautiful, but the kids made some really cool observations including the passion fruit flower looking like a frilly skirt from Livy, and worked together to fill out their bingo cards (Hunter declared herself on web watch)

They chased lizards in the sun together, spent time fanning themselves and looked for spider webs in the shelter of a rose covered portico, watched turtles and dragonflies at the pond, ran through sprinklers on the grass, and climbed through the roots in the dappled shade of beautiful trees.

Just a little bit of what our homschool days look like. More often than not these days are a mess of love and chaos, but when we come together like this, they become these soft beautiful memories and I love that we get to share in them.

Stem Science experiments today with Ms. Monica at Stem Science experiments today with Ms. Monica at @wildandfree.foothills. We really love science experiments in this family so this was a really special day. We got an opportunity to paint paper with food coloring and shaving cream (it gives a really cool marble effect), make it rain in a jar, we made elephant toothpaste and we planted seeds in jars to watch them take root!

All in all a fantastic school day outdoors in the sun.
