Halos Chocolate Mandarins

Years ago, before Cris and I were married, we went to a Christmas party at a close friends parents home. The BIG THING that year was the chocolate fountain set up in their kitchen, with a huge array of “dippables” surrounding it. Everything from bacon to marshmallows to various fruits and potato chips, and being the adventurous riffraff we are, we decided to add cheese cubes and ham, and if I am remembering correctly, even some baloney, on the theory that chocolate makes everything better.

Plantains and Sausage

After a long day on the trail during a recent trip with the American Adventurist group, I was off setting up my Outback Swag when the smells of something sweet started to drift through camp.  It was not a familiar scent for me, but it sure smelled great.  My nose ended up leading me to Humberto’s skottle, where he was frying up some Plantains.

Hard to Leave

As you may have noticed, there have not been many updates since Hunter was born.  As I am sure you all know, things have been a bit hectic.  There just does not seem to be enough time in the day.  I have had several posts ready to go in my head and just no time to actually type them out. I will try to touch briefly on some those posts here, but as I type this now I am sitting at John Wayne International Airport waiting for my flight to New Jersey.
